Motion-activated lights are very convenient, but they can be a little bulky and awkward to look at-in the driveway is fine, but you wouldn't want to put one on your porch. Heath Zenith's motion-activated porch lights are another story: the SL-4305 looks like an ordinary five-sided porch light.The unit will detect motion in a 360-degree radius with up to 30-feet detection range. You can set the light timer to one, five, or ten minutes, and the sensor itself may be adjusted to give you more or less sensitivity (so it doesn't light up every time a car drives by). The weather-resistant brass construction means it's going to look good for a while, too. If you're looking to save a little money on lighting your porch by installing a motion-detector, this is a great option that won't look out of place. I was tired of pulling out of my garage only to realize that 1) I left my front porch light on all night & 2) I have to go back into the house to turn the light off.
It looks good, it looks just like my old light fixture except for the white motion sensor ball in the middle - it doesn't scream "security light"
I think it has a light sensor, it will not turn on during the daytime
When I pull into the driveway at night, it turns on, so now I get to do a quick visual check to see if there is anything on my door. Now all I need for the front door is a security camera.
I took my brother about 20 minutes to install, lightbulbs are not included but no special tools were required

Our home was broken into by a neighbor boy and his sister so we looked all over for a motion light to put above out enterance door. This light works wonderfully and is not obviously a motion light. We leave it on at all times and it flashes on as someone approaches on our sidewalk to our door. So if the lights on someone has been around our front porch. Makes me feel safer.

I received the light in less time than I thought I would, and I am well pleased with it. Our motion activated security lights are linked to our porch light, and in order for the security lights to work, the light switch must be turned on at all times. This leaves the porch light burning throughout the night. To avoid the energy loss and the drain on the electric bill, we'd disconnected bulb in the porch light which left us stumbling in darkness. With this product, we just set the time interval at 1min/5min/10min, and when we step onto the porch from the house or off the street, Shaazammm!!!
We have yet to use the plastic guards that are provided with the light, and used to block the motion sensor at various angles. I'm sure that this will come in handy as we use the porch more in the summer. The hope is that we can sit on the porch in the evenings without the light drawing every mosquito in town. Also, I have heard folks complain about the low watt candelabra bulbs. I don't find those to be such a problem, with 4 bulbs we get more than adequate lighting. Also, they now make these bulbs in the longer-lasting 2.5-15 watt CFL. 5w seems to be the 25watt equivalent required by this lamp.

This porch light is very easy to install and once you set the level of sensitivity - it works great. I like the fact that when I leave my workshop at night, I can see to lock up and walk to the house without leaving a light on as I have it set for five minute on/off. If I needed another one for another part of the house, etc., I would not hesitate to purchase it.

Install was easy. The universal base plate adaptor made for a quick connection to existing junction box. All connection hardware included. The sensor picks up movement from at least 10 feet so the porch is lit up before you enter.
